Cyber Guru raises $25M as its cybersecurity training platform surpasses 1M users

In 2021, we made our first investment in Italy, participating in the €3.6 million Series A funding round for Cyber Guru, a Rome-based cybersecurity training and awareness startup.

Today, we are thrilled to announce that we have invested once again as part of their $25 million Series B round led by Riverside Acceleration Capital, a US-based growth equity firm, alongside Educapital, the largest European investment fund focused on EdTech and the Future of Work, and existing investors P101.

Empowering employees as the first line of defense against cyber attacks

Despite the diverse strategies organizations employ to safeguard their systems, numerous hacking attempts continue to succeed by taking advantage of basic human behaviors. According to Stanford Research, 88% of data breaches are caused by human error. 

Cyber Guru focuses on strengthening the human factor – turning it from a weak link in security into a frontline defense against cyberattacks for organizations. Combining a proprietary adaptive Machine Learning model along with behavioral science methodologies, Cyber Guru’s comprehensive security awareness training platform has proven to be engaging and effective, leading to real improvements in an organization’s security posture. The company has established itself as one of the fastest-growing startups across Southern Europe, working with 700+ organizations and training more than 1 million active users in 90 countries.

This new investment seeks to capitalize on Cyber Guru's leading market position by accelerating the company's ambitious AI-driven contextual training strategy. The company plans to use the funding to increase sales and marketing resources while expanding Go-To-Market operations across Europe.
