Strengthening the Adara Ventures team: Promotions 2024

As we kick off 2024, we are proud to announce the promotion of two highly deserving members of our team: Ross Strachan as Partner and Jorge Baron as Principal.

Since launching Adara Ventures, we have set out to build a team that brings together diverse backgrounds and expertise to support our portfolio, investors, and the continued success of Adara. These team members have emerged as leaders within our firm, and their hard work and talent have played an integral role in Adara’s growth. 

Ross Strachan has been promoted to Partner

Ross joined Adara in 2018 after finishing his MBA at IE in Madrid, Spain. Initially supporting Portfolio Management for our AVII fund as an Associate (working closely with portfolio companies Fluzo, CounterCraft, Hdiv, and PlayGiga), Ross was promoted to Principal in 2019 in conjunction with the launch of our AVIII fund. 

Ross has led investments in portfolio companies Caravelo, Apres, XONAI, and Komon, and works closely with the management teams at BeonX and Cyber Guru (all part of our AVIII fund). 

Since 2020, Ross has also been responsible for the creation and execution of Adara’s Platform strategy, encompassing the initiatives that systematically add value to the portfolio (focused on Network, Knowledge, Tools, and Partnerships). 

Jorge Baron has been promoted to Principal

Jorge joined Adara Ventures in 2019 from BMW i Ventures where he was part of their investment team. As an Analyst, Jorge supported the analysis and investment cases of XYZ Reality, 42Crunch, IOMED, Freeverse, and Bigle Legal (all part of our AVIII fund). 

In 2021, he was promoted to Associate and started taking on portfolio support responsibilities for these and other portfolio companies, including Intelex Vision and Quality Clouds, as well as helping to shape our investments in Kimera Technologies and Jotelulu.

Growing our commitment to visionary founders 

The growth of our leadership team coincides with the upcoming launch of two new funds: AVIV, Adara’s flagship early-stage vehicle, and Adara Ventures Energy, our first thematic fund focused on the intersection of software and the energy transition. With these new funds, we will continue to back early-stage, deep tech startups with the vision, courage, and capacity to become global leaders.
